Priority Energy provides accurate and timely residential and commercial load calculations for both new and existing structures. Our building code specialists calculate the Manual J & S reports you need to attain village building permits. We also offer complete HVAC test and balancing services for code compliance, and ASHRAE RTS/CLTD & ACCA Manual N reports. Start with Priority Energy for the most efficient, accurate, heating and cooling equipment sizing, design, and humidity control. We have designed hundreds of HVAC systems and know what it takes to meet Chicago’s ever-changing weather demands.
AN ACCURATELY DESIGNED HVAC SYSTEM WILL:
Save Energy & Money
The heating and cooling equipment will NOT perform better if it is BIGGER than it needs to be. Research has shown that when the HVAC is too large for the home, it can cause structural damage due to excess humidity. And let’s not forget the bigger price tag for the unit itself and the subsequent operating costs for the larger fan and compressor. An accurate and efficient system will run steadily without stopping and starting for better comfort and lower utility costs.
Deliver Year-Round Comfort & Better Structural Durability
Relative humidity levels in residential houses should be around 50% in the cooling season (summer) for the Chicago area; if you have higher levels, it could indicate a problem. This often happens when an AC system is too large.
During the heating season (winter), comfort is impacted by oversized mechanical systems as well, especially with heat pumps. A heat pump has to move more air around in order for it to maintain even temperatures. If it is too large, it will have to move even more air, creating chilly drafts. Priority Energy’s HVAC design services will make sure you are comfortably cool, cozy and warm when you need it.
Did you know that too much or too little indoor humidity is not only uncomfortable, but it can also be damaging to your home? We will develop a balanced system that will prevent moisture problems and maintain relative humidity levels of 40 to 60 percent for optimal comfort and structural durability.
Provide Healthier Indoor Air
Strange odors, mold, mildew and dust mites have been traced back to HVAC systems that are not effectively dehumidifying a home or building. Allergy and asthma symptoms have also been linked to exposure to these indoor contaminates. Priority Energy’s accurate load calculations (Manual J & D) and ductwork design (Manual S) will help ensure adequate airflow, ventilation and humidity control is reaching all the rooms in your home or building for a safe and comfortable environment.
TEST & BALANCE
Our certified staff will help you with the final steps necessary for commercial code compliance and will measure, test and balance airflow.
We provide:
- Provide Healthier Indoor AirAirflow test and balance for heating, cooling and ventilation airflows
- Low pressure supply / return / exhaust systems
- Variable air volume systems
- High pressure systems
- Total system airflow testing and diagnostics
- LEED™ outside air balancing
- System commissioning
VENTILATION
Priority Energy follows ASHRAE (Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) guidelines for the design, installation and service of fresh air ventilation systems.
Ventilation and the dilution of airborne contaminants is essential in preventing the spread of germs in commercial buildings. If you need help optimizing your commercial ventilation system for better indoor air quality, we can help.
